I absolutely love Audible Plus because it gives me access to thousands of audiobooks for free with membership. I was browsing the catalog when I came upon some Kristin Higgins books and decided to give Now That You Mention It a try.

I really admire how the author portrayed Nora, who has been through so much but has persevered. She tough, tender, kick-ass, and full of love for those in her orbit. She’s definitely the type of strong female character I like to read or listen to.

One of the strengths of this book was that the romance was a minor element and not the focus of the story. And I liked the fact that some more serious issues were dealt with in a lighter manner. After reading or listening to a lot of darker books, it was a nice break to all the heaviness one can get with big subjects. That’s not to diminish them, that’s just to say there’s more than one way a storyteller can talk about serious subjects.

Overall, I liked the book. The overall message seemed to be about love. I will definitely be checking out the other Kristin Higgins titles available on the Audible Plus catalog.
