A Bride in the Bargain by Deeanne Gist

3.0

I liked this but I didn’t love it. The female character really annoyed me. Anna moves from Massachusetts to Seattle, Washington as one of “Mercer’s Brides” (Civil war widows from the east to marry lumberjacks in the west). She’s misled, but she’s so unreasonable about it that I found her annoying.

Joe is a lumberjack. He is almost too good to be true. I liked his character though.

I’m glad I read and LOVED Maid to Match first, or I might not realize what a great author she is based on this one book.
