I can't figure this one out. The sentence structure and writing feels like it's evoking a kid's book in some way (repetition, short block sentences, use of declarations) but the content is definitely not kid-based. I kind of kept expecting a rug pull or twist at some point - the authors going "here's why we've used this style! We're aware of it's use and here's the twist that gets you!" But nothing ever came. I kind of come away confused more than anything.
