The Happy Couple by Naoise Dolan

2.0

Dolan is very good at dialogue, making it feel like voice but actually every character talks and jokes in the exact same style. This was light as air and I read it in about 20 minutes (not quite but what is with that font point size?!). I didn’t love Exciting Times so no idea why I came back for more. Dolan has a depressing view of human relationships and interactions and I’m probably just too old for this. After Enright I guess anything was going to seem trivial. I loved the classical music content though.
