I Was Told It Would Get Easier by Abbi Waxman

4.0

This isn't deep literature, but it was sweet and fun. The audiobook was well done. And a couple of chapters are set in Rhinebeck, New York, a place that I spent much time in when my daughter had a doctor there that she had to visit once or twice a month. The description of the town was exactly right. The candy store is the tiny but mighty Samuel's Sweet Shop, and you must visit if you are in town. They also have great coffee! See photo: https://bit.ly/3qbpLNW I also had no idea the Beekman Arms is the oldest inn in the US, and now will try to eat or stay there the next time I am in town.

The book goes back and forth between the mother and teen daughter's point of view. The thing that I took to heart about that is that they were often going through similar things, but didn't share that with they other person because they each figured the other wouldn't understand.

This is a book with a happy ending, which is what most of us need these days!
