Jared put down his brandy glass and got to his feet. "As you have pointed out to me, Miss Wingfield, one does not have to travel widely in order to gain experience of the world."
"True enough." She watched him as he walked deliveratly toward her. "Is there something the matter, Mr. Chillhurst?"
"Yes." He walked around the desk, reached down, and lifted Olympia straight out of her chair. "There is something I wish to learn tonight, Miss Wingfield, and only you know the answer."
"Mr. Chillhurst."Olympia could hardly breathe. Excitement flashed through her. "What is your question, sir?"
"Will you kiss me, Miss Wingfield?"
Olympia was so saken she could not find the words to respond. She did the only thing she could. She put her arms around Jared's neck and lifted her mouth to his in silent invitation.
"Siren." Jared's arms closed very tightly around her as he crushed her lips beneath his own...
Jared Chillhurst is different from his family. He is a business man while they are nothing but buccaneers. He has the sensible more responsible one in the family who saw to it to take care of everyone and step in when they get themselves in trouble. He takes up the family search of a diary that belongs to his great great grandma. A diary that contains clues to a lost lost treasure. He finds out that its on his ship on is way to Olympia wingfield. While his father and uncle wants him to go and seduce her for the diary and any information she can gather from it. Jared being the sensible one wants to buy the diary and info from her.
The only problem is that as soon as Jared sees her he falls in love with her and tells her that he is her new tutor for her nephews. Olympia finds herself enjoying not only tales of his travels but also him. Meanwhile she fears someone is trying to get the diary her library is breaking into and many of her neighbors don't like Jared. Olympia decides against Jared's wishes to go to London for a bit in hope of research and that everyone will calm down. While there Jared comes face to face with his ex-fiance and eventually Olympia finds out that his a viscountess and that the diary belongs to his family. He gets Olympia to marry him and while he tries to find out who has been stealing from him, she tries to put otgether the clues from the diary about where the treasure can be.
I really loved this book and couldn't put it down. I found myself thinking about what was going to happen next. I really love both the hero and the heroine.
What I liked:
The loved they way Olympia was always defending Jared
What I didn't like:
I couldn't stand Gifford nor Demetria.
