I loved the first one in the series but only liked this one. Lizzy is in love with her brothers best friend, Oliver, but they are best friends in their own right. Oliver doesn't believe he could ever take care of Lizzy the way she deserves. Lizzy has no idea that Oliver loves her just as she does him. Oliver becomes aware of Lizzys feelings but is too scared to admit his.
Rose is still my favorite character. I love her bluntness and ownership of her own spirit. Elizabeth,Lizzy, is supposed to be this adventurous, free spirit, but spends the entire book mooning over Oliver and why no one can see that she's a woman now. It becomes repetitive & a bit annoying. I wish she had leaned more into the adventurous side of her. She just comes across as whiney. Oliver doesn't bother me but I don't like him as much as I did in the first book. This one was just ok for me.
