I really, really loved this story! Historical romance is my all-time favourite genre so I was super excited to find this new one to read. I just loved everything about this book – the time period, the descriptive writing and the characters. I loved Amelia, I can only imagine how forbidden her writing would have been in those times! I think I would have liked to see what she wrote in some of her letters to Nicholas though! Nicholas was so lovely, I loved the moment when he realised what he had been missing all along! It was nice to read a book that wasn’t all about sex – I loved reading about their relationship and although it was only a short book there wasn’t anything missing for me – I only wish it had been longer because I was enjoying it way too much to stop reading! The pace and flow of the story was really good.
I really cannot wait to read more from this author in the future – I have definitely found a new historical author to love!
