Divine Justice by David Baldacci

3.0

This is the sequel to [b:Stone Cold|627984|Stone Cold (Camel Club, #3)|David Baldacci|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51v810u4DfL._SL75_.jpg|614327], where protagonist Oliver Stone had just dived off a high cliff after assassinating the CIA chief. Divine Justice picks up from there and Oliver leaves Washington DC and his Camel Club friends behind and, through a chance encounter on a train, goes to ground in a small town in Virginia.

But a number of mysterious accidents and a disputed suicide lead Oliver to start asking questions. Before long there's an attempt on his own life, and all the while the CIA's best investigator is closing in on him.

There's plenty of dubious coincidences and dodgy plotholes but the pace is sufficient to distract from these and keep one interested. There's a decent finale and the ending is basically a setup for a further sequel. There's life in the old Camel yet!
