Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

4.0

This book is so many things I can't even begin to place it.

I do feel, however, that I did not do this book the justice it deserved. It took me sooo long to read, and I feel like I missed a lot of critical information at times, but when I sat down at read it, I devoured the story.

But I do think the writing is absolutely one of the most beautiful things I have ever read. Emily truly transported me into a world of drama, abuse, love, etc. And I was not too fond of any of the characters. I tried so hard, but I don't think any of the characters were meant to appeal to the readers.

And even though there is a love story written between these pages, it is one that should not be romanticized, for it symbolizes such a toxic representation of love and how the line between love and hate are forever toed.

I really liked it, but I think I'm gonna stick with more beginner classics for a bit. (But one day I will definitely reread this to annotate!!)
