I read a lot of fantasy books, but I don’t normally read ones with witches as the main character, or where they’re good. So this was a fun change to that!
I loved the beginning of this book! I was instantly curious what was going on with her suddenly not able to stand people touching her. The issue with her mom was also so good! I loved it.
We follow Mercy through her finding out she comes from a long line of witches and is a surprisingly powerful witch about to come fully into her powers. We learn a lot about her history and her purpose in the magical world, which is fun.
There are three love interests for Mercy, which is a bit much. That is kinda cleared up (more like paused) at the end of the book, so I’m curious to see how that plays out in book 2.
