China Rich Girlfriend, by Kevin Kwan

4.0

In December 2016 I traveled to California to visit my friends for a little over a week. On the plane ride I brought along Crazy Rich Asians, the first in the series by Kevin Kwan. I laughed so much; the book was hilarious and eye-opening at the lives of the rich in Asia. It’s fictional of course, but there are elements of truth to it all. On the way back to Toronto, I found the second in the series at the airport in San Francisco and decided to buy it. I finished Crazy Rich Asians on the airplane ride back, and then read China Rich Girlfriend in the first week of January. It was addicting, like gossip about high royalty. It was difficult to put down so I finished it rather quickly – it’s captivating like a trashy reality TV program.
