The writing is really beautiful, it's written in a way that romanticises the male gaze, so the words are all very lyrical and written in a way someone would write a longing and desperate love letter. However this juxtapositions itself with the seriousness of the incidents and situation that occur on this book, which makes it a very interesting read.
