Dire Branches by Brian Fatah Steele

4.0

Baba Yaga is new to me, so this was something a bit different than I usually read.

Steele takes his time building characters and setting the mood before diving into the meat and potatoes. Once it gets going, it gets bloody, weird, and good. Steele writes some good scenes here and the characters also feel real, which is a plus. This is the third book I've read by the author, and it's my favorite so far.

With his latest, Steele has written what I consider his best book yet. Pick this one up and give it a spin!
