Down Shift by K. Bromberg

5.0

If I wasn't already a fan of this author, Down Shift would have clinched the deal hands down. While this is the 8th book in the Driven Series it can be read as a stand alone. It is a powerful, emotional read about two vulnerable people damaged by circumstances in their path who let love heal them. I cannot say enough about the talent of K. Bromberg as an author. She has written a book that engages the reader right from the opening pages and weaves a story of loss, pain and love taking her readers on an emotional journey as the power of love heals these two wounded souls. Yes, you will need some tissues during a few parts of this book, but it was so rewarding to see the man Zander has become. You still see glimpses of the little boy he was but this story is really about the man coming to terms with his childhood. I thought Getty was the perfect match for him. Yes, she is vulnerable, hurt and dealing with her own trauma but this is a strong woman who has decided to take control of her life and write her story not live someone else's.

This was an incredible read, written by a talented author who knows how to create characters and write a story that will touch her readers. Down Shift will leave the reader thinking about these characters and their story after they have finished the final page.
