This was very mid for me. I didn’t like the premise of this love story. I don’t like needless secrecy that could have been resolved with a mature conversation. I found the character interactions throughout read rather young. It didn’t feel like I was reading about grown ass people most of the time. They almost felt like high schoolers at times which was kind of disappointing. I unfortunately didn’t buy into much of the plot and was only marginally rooting for the couple given how quickly everything happens. I just didn’t find it believable that they would fall for each other in the way the author wanted me to believe. I would read more from this author. I’m hoping this was just not the right story for me and that other books of theirs will land better.
