War Storm by Victoria Aveyard

4.0

War Storm is a flawed, but ultimately still a great, ending to Victoria Aveyard's Red Queen series. I'm thrilled that Maven was FINALLY a P.O.V. character in this book. I loved the chapters that were written from Maven's point of view, and I wish that there had been more chapters in the book that were written from his point of view. Maven has quite possibly always been the best and most interesting character in the Red Queen series. While I also really enjoyed Evangeline's, Iris', and Cal's P.O.V. chapters, I do think that there was still a little room for improvement on Aveyard's part when it comes to using their chapters to give the reader a deeper insight into who they are as characters and why they are the way they are.

Even though I think War Storm is a very action packed book, I did think that the overall pacing of the book was somewhat uneven. At times it seemed like a lot was happening very quickly in the book, and then there were times throughout the book that it kind of felt like not a lot was happening; or that aspects of the plot were being dragged out a bit too long. Despite my issues with the pacing of the plot, I ultimately found War Storm to be a very addictive book, and I'm extremely excited to read Broken Throne in the near future.
