This is definitely one of the more original Heyers I've read, and one of the best!
While I won't put it up in the ranks of Black Sheep, it's a riot to read from start to finish. The age gap is, for once, appropriate even by our standards; the couple is delightful; the plot more complex than just couple stare woefully at each other for 300 pages; and it's not resolved by someone going off to get shot or kidnapped! It was even understandable as an ebook – sometimes I lose track of who is who during the beginning of a Heyer, but that was definitely not the case here.
If you're looking for a Regency romance that isn't focussed on rank or danger, this is definitely one to pick up. If you enjoyed this and want another Heyer to try, I'd recommend The Quiet Gentleman or The Unknown Ajax.
