Blood and Dust by Melanie Gilbert

5.0

(I was provided an ARC by the author for an honest review.)

(4.5 rounded up to 5) Well this was short and sweet! And hot heads up for anyone expecting ~spice~, this is not a spicy book. Though our main vamp Gabe wants to get with his huntress so bad I’m sure some of the next novellas in this series will get us there ;)

I really liked this book because it introduces us to the characters and binds them together in life or death situations, some of which they haven’t yet let themselves feel okay with! In this novella format, I think there’s a lot a lot a lot of mobility for both Gabriel and Lennon as we follow their “will they won’t they” journey.

I think my favorite thing so far is that Gabriel is downright fine with being a vampire. There’s no vampy angst about whether or not his soul is damned *cough cough mr Edward Cullen looking u bb* He’s just living his little vampy life and while he may need to get it together a little more than not I’m excited to see if he can learn and grow as a person.

Lennon also needs to loosen up a little bit, which I’m sure is hard when you have no friends and you spend your life hunting vampires. Open ur eyes girlie!! There’s more to life than staking vamps! But that doesn’t mean u have to stay away from them entirely get my drift??? ;)

Anyways I’m excited for the next installment!! Hope y’all enjoy this novella like I did!
