For Everly by Raine Thomas

4.0

This book was super amazing! I really loved the whole story line and the characters fit that story very well. Although the story line was amazing, it was a little typical in the fact that Everly Wallace was the typical perfect main female character that wasn't looking for love but found it anyways. Then Cole Parker was the typical male main character that was only looking for a good time but instead found "the one".

Yet, even with these stoic characters, the author was able to put them in a unique situation that made the book really good. I liked how Everly had a tragic past yet was able to do something productive with her life. Because she was broke and caring for her grandfather she took on extra jobs and worked even harder. Quite unlike other books where the female character resorts to drastic measures to pay their rent... This made Everly stand out and eventually made me like her as a character despite some of the cliches in the book.

Cole Parker is the typical famous, rich, and fictional baseball player. But instead of a revolving door with no steady relationships, he has some psycho girlfriends in his closet. Even with these marks against him (I mean besides being hot and rich ;) Cole grew on me. He evolves from kind of a jerk, to someone that would be a perfect match for Everly. I also quite liked how the author put some small relational speed bumps throughout the book instead of bunching them all together. It made the book a little more realistic and easier to sympathize with.

Now, you may be wondering, "if the book has so many negatives, then why should I read it?" You should definitely read this book because it's a really good story. These are just things that caught my attention throughout the novel. Actually the positives of the book greatly out weigh any negatives I have brought up so far. For Everly was a great read and well worth the money. The characters were easy to like and I was constantly cringing whenever they hit a speed bump throughout the book.

Overall, this book, while a little cliche, was a great read! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good new adult romance read.
