This is the first suspenseful book I’ve read in a while, and I finished it in two nights. I didn’t know what to expect going in because I didn’t realize it inspired the Wayward Pines TV show nor have I seen that show. The story was gripping, and I couldn’t have guessed the ending. I’ll have to start reading more thrilling books again!
That being said, the main character is kind of an asshole and talks about women in a way I didn’t appreciate. I really didn’t like him and I can’t say I was rooting for him in the book. My high rating is for the engrossing plot and unique ending - not for a lovable, fleshed out character.
