Men Explain Things to Me by Rebecca Solnit

2.0

this was a little disappointing. i had read the eponymous essay, and really liked that. i think it is deservedly famous; there’s something wonderful about how Solnit manages to put into words what has happened to so many women around the world, namely men explaining things to them that they know less about than the women they are explaining it to. however, i found this book to be repetitive. i feel like its main purpose was to illuminate why feminism is still needed in this day and age, but that seems obvious to me. repeating how women are systemically violated, silenced and belittled only makes me depressed
