Women Who Love Too Much: When You Keep Wishing and Hoping He'll Change by Robin Norwood

4.0

I feel like many woman would benefit from reading this because we have been conditioned to be selfless in relationships and even in our jobs, to the point of our own neglect. I think something that isn't discussed in the book that is very valid, is being brought up in a high demand/control religion where we are groomed to be selfless and helpers first, and that our worth is determined by how much we do for others. The suggestions in this book are mostly beneficial, but I don’t feel like affirmations have ever worked for me. Also, the concept of letting go to a higher power is not something I believe in anymore, so that will be a bit of a struggle for me. I do like that she accounts for that and says instead to just get out in nature. I will probably reread this someday when I need the reminder to honor myself first.
