If You Tell a Lie: A Novel by Lucinda Berry

2.0

Ok, fast read; but somewhat predictable. The flow wasn’t as smooth as I typically like. It felt kind of choppy.

The characters were frustrating, not very well developed, and we don’t get resolution for many of them. I usually like dual timelines but this one didn’t align well.

I also feel some type of way that the representation of Meg, Mr. Crosby, and his wife felt like an afterthought; and were just added to check a box.

This was my first Lucinda Berry read, and I look forward to trying another one or two of her books to see if I like them better. For a story with such heavy subject matter, it was very forgettable.

“If You Tell A Lie” isn’t one I’ll go around recommending, but I didn’t hate it. It was just ok.
