Like many others of my generation, I knew of Rita Moreno, but didn't really see her and therefore fall in love with her until the remake of One Day at a Time. I had no idea her life story was so incredible. She endured much heartbreak and broke through innumerable barriers in her life and career. I have unending respect for her and her work, and believe hers is an important story to know.
