The Price of Scarlet: Poems by Brianna Noll
3.0
I recieved a copy of THE PRICE OF SCARLET from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
(3.5 stars)
I have.... mixed feelings about THE PRICE OF SCARLET.
Maybe that's because this is my first book of poetry. Maybe that's because I don't have anything to compare this to. But, for the most part, I enjoyed reading this collection.
Some quotes were beautiful and meaningful, like that one; others, I just felt were pagefillers. Most of this collection, I enjoyed and appreciated. The rest.... not so much. The author seemed to throw words together to try and make a beautiful piece of art, but that simply didn't happen for some.
I don't mean to dissuade anyone from reading THE PRICE OF SCARLET. Most of it is beautiful, it's a quick read, it made me feel calm, to put it simply. It is a nice collection; it's just not life-changing or something that will make you question the world.

Would you call it
beautiful or terrible, the power to make
a creature over,
make it your own?
