I have read this books so many times that most of it is memorized. My mom bought it for me when I was a kid and now I share it with my students. It's funny, as you read it, Kindergarteners will just sit there and patiently listen. First graders will wet their pants with laughter and beg for more - the older you get the weirder it is - and if you are like me, the poems come out just when you need them. Like when you see your friend drop cucumber on her chest while scarfing her salad - Little Miss Bantry sitting in the pantry... Or if anyone says they hate peas... Well I eat mine with honey... I could go on. Yes. I can. Like on a bad day when everything seems to go wrong - all for a nail! Yes my darling daughter...
