This book was fun! As a sequel I can't help but compare it to the original. I was quite surprised because the first book was set up as short stories (murderous vignettes), but this book read more as a continuous story with connected chapters. It also allowed us to learn more about Maude's childhood and laugh and made her a more fully fleshed out character.

Minor: Rape

Maude is less murderous in this book, or at least less successfully murderous but in most cases more justified. Except for the attack of her professional rival, the rival was awful but it felt a little to small for Maude to try to kill her. And because she was so unsuccessful in the killing it felt much more gruesome and cruel.
