A heartbreakingly beautiful story about love, grief, and human connection.
It follows Adelaide, a twenty-something woman living in London, as she falls in love, falls apart, and slowly puts herself back together.
I definitely wouldnโt call this a romance, but contemporary/literary fiction with heavy mental health themes. It is a roller coaster of real, honest, raw emotions. The writing had a beautiful poetic quality, I didnโt want to put it down. Feeling the highs and lows of life, both so intensely, is exhausting.
This book is proof that sometimes things just need to fall apart in order to get better, that sometimes rock bottom can become a sold foundation to rebuild on. Although most of the story is filled with sadness, it left me feeling hopeful, and I think thatโs beautiful.
*read with care - there are lots of heavy, sensitive topics throughout this book, I recommend checking trigger warnings
Graphic: Death, Emotional abuse, Miscarriage, Suicidal thoughts, Toxic relationship, Grief, Suicide attempt, and Gaslighting
