Yet another thank you to the FOMO Book Club/Openly Booked Book Club for making this the July choice. I’m not entirely sure how I missed this series – in general & also the fact that it’s in Kindle Unlimited. I enjoyed it enough to download the second book in the series & as a group we enjoyed it enough to keep that chat open for the second book – just like our Fourth Wing chat.

I liked all the different races of beings and I’m excited to learn more about the others because the (most) of the Fae in this book are not anyone I’d like to meet. The only exception to that feeling is Phoebus. Fallon has a very tight knit and loyal set of friends – I think more than she realized. The world building was very descriptive and I definitely see where the author drew her inspiration from.

Fallon definitely heard what she wanted to hear about the prophecy- she made several assumptions that didn’t pan out how she thought. By less than halfway through the book both of her love interests were a hard no for me – too many red flags. I could definitely do without her incessantly forgiving Dante for all the sh*t he did or said – that drove me nuts. It is the first time that I can remember reading an FMC that wasn’t 10000% ok with whatever their love obsession was doing – even if she didn’t voice each thing out loud. Fallon’s relationships with animals is also something that I loved about her – especially Minimus & Furia.

On to book two!
