Second Sight by Jayne Ann Krentz, Amanda Quick

I didn't think I'd like this book based on the synopsis and the fact that I lost interest while reading it. But I decided to read the book anyway because there were books later in the series that I did want to read and I'm obsessive about reading books in order. I was amazed that I was hooked by the end of the 1st chapter and did not want to put it down. Unfortunately the book takes a nosedive and does have a significant block of boredom where we see a lot of Venetia's day to day life and how her and Gabriel's search for the 'villain' progresses. Parts of this book made me feel like I was in an episode of Scooby-Doo though and I waited for the infamous line..."And I would have gotten away with it too if it hadn't been for you meddling kids"....it didn't come though. Not to fear....the book does pick up and ends very nicely with everything tied up in a nice neat bow.
