Reread: I read this aloud with my 7 and 5 year old and they loved it. My 7 year old is already asking if we can read it again. They especially loved finding the parallels to the original Cinderella story.
Original review: This was my favorite book growing up and is still one of my favorites. Ella is a strong, loyal protagonist with her own faults and grows stronger with the trials she faces throughout the book. Char was my first book crush and lives up to everything I thought he was when I was younger. The magic is charming, the world feels larger than the book, and the adventures Ella goes on are perfect for young girls or older women.
