Short stories about people (mostly lesbians) who don't know how to stop overthinking it and just be gay. Almost all are about breakups or unhealthy relationships. Poetic prose, but I found it boring, unsatisfying, and pessimistic.
Several of the stories come back to the idea of unspoken queer rules/expectations. Maybe it's a generational divide or maybe I'm just privileged, but that idea wasn't relatable to me. Like what is she talking about and why does no one in this book have any decent friends.
