Cute, but nothing groundbreaking. Just kind of mid-tier of the Sadenverse books I’ve read so far. This book felt mostly like a sponsored ad of all the other couples, because they took up almost as much space in the story as Aleks and Gabe.

I did kind of like the really slow entry into the relationship, with Aleks having come from a long-term relationship and never being with anyone else, and never with a guy at all. I enjoyed the awkwardness and novelty of it, and how Gabe was so patient with him. And then kind of how Gabe was worried once he and Aleks had tried everything sexually that their arrangement would be over. I also liked the lack of a third act breakup.

What I didn’t like was Aleks going on that fake date right after he and Gabe became official, even though he knew Gabe wasn’t happy about it. Totally gave me the ick with his character, but he kinda made up for it when he came to the conclusion that he loved Gabe because he would sacrifice things for him that he never would have with his ex-wife. And the “I love you” declaration was adorable. Spice was eh, just alright. The dirty talk was good though.

All the Puckboy audiobooks are on a waitlist at my library so looks like I’m jumping back to the Fake Boyfriend series for a bit. Maddox and Damon, here I come.
