i read this book in less than 24 hours. it was powerful and my favorite book in verse. it covered topics concerning sexism and sexuality, religion and coming of age within a strict family and a stifling world. there were several lines that i had to mark off because they struck so deeply with me. i only wish that i had more of xiomara’s story to read.
