I’ve had this on my TBR list for YEARS. Like, I remember seeing it at the bookstore when it first came out and I wanted to read it, but then always found something that was more up my alley so I never got around to reading this book.

Well I finally “consumed” the book (audio) and I really enjoyed it.

This is a fun, coming-of-age tale that takes place in the not too distant future. Reading this in 2024 is crazy because I can see some of this happening in just 10 years or less. I felt at home in this story and related to the protagonists a lot. The pop culture references are really fun and the dialogue is entertaining.

A major criticism I had at first was that it took a while for the plot to really get started, but once it did and you got more into the story, the slow pace was understandable. There’s a lot of backstory/context given in the beginning and it almost made me give up on it. Don’t give up on it!
