Severed: The True Story Of The Black Dahlia Murder by John Gilmore
dark

I really liked the writing of this book but, because of the photos, I have to give it one star. The killer violated the victim in many ways, including leaving her naked on a suburban sidewalk in broad daylight. Paparazzi, public, cops; all these peoppe saw her lying uncovered. And they are still looking at her, all these years later. I understand the publication of the photos but they could have been edited to hide her most private parts. The people involved in this book had the opportunity to give her sone dignity back and they didn't. It's very telling when a true crime author doesn't thank the victim(s) at the beginning. It speaks volumes in this case.
