Nephilim Falling by Felicia Beasley

The first page had me with its comparisons to toddlers and cake because well I so understand both her and her brother's point of view and I often feel one or the other. So I just burst into laughter at the very first snarky sassy paragraph. (And I know it makes no sense now but buy it and you will understand and laugh also I promise).

Lex is exactly how I would have been if I were a half demon teen. The juggling of two different worlds cannot be easy and she does it with sass and sarcastic humor. Exactly the kind i like most. I even love the big brother that tries so hard to make her his little sister even if she is growing up. Can any big brother or father figure ever admit their little girl is growing up? I loved the characters because despite the fantasy aspect they were real.

The story is funny. The frog in the beginning alone had me thinking oh my god there really is a frog like demon and he's kind of gross and a sleaze and this is real. It was a ridiculous demon but so damn amusing. I cannot wait to read more of this series. Snark is my favorite urban fantasy personality ever. :)
