It is a good sequel to its predecessor. The author does recap events from Castles in Their Bones in a way that doesn’t feel too much like info dumping. Unfortunately, this sequel felt too drawn out with little progress having been made. Our two main princesses are still running around, trying to outsmart their mother, who in turns always ends up being one step of them (or two or five…)

I am curious how the third one will turn out, especially if it is the end and will wrap up the story. How do you beat someone who just seems so…unbeatable?
