Scandalous Secrets by Synithia Williams

4.0

Initial thoughts: this one felt a bit longer than I would have liked but I think that’s because I’ve been reading a lot of novellas lately and some kid lit. Even still, I ended up really loving this one. The characters are what really sold it for me. They’re complex and fully fleshed out and I felt like I could really connect with them. Zoe has been through so much but she’s strong & independent & a fighter. Byron was strong in his own way and sweet and I loved his protective side & his hopefulness & optimism when it came to love. So many times you read about the Hero being the one closed off to love, but this time it was the heroine and I think that point of view and storyline is so important to showcase. I’m not usually a big second chance love story fan for some reason. It’s not really a go-to trope for me, but I’m so glad I read this one. I fell in love with these characters & their storyline. Not to mention politics & suspense thrown in and I’m sold! Will definitely be back with a review! Stay tuned!
