Blue Lilies by Lucy Holden

"But we cannot return to what we were, Keziah. None of us can. We can only take what we are and accept it, then transform and become stronger. If we can’t face our true selves, we weaken, be come less, rather than more."

So much happens in Blue Lilies and you won't be ready for any of it. I sure wasn't. The entire thing almost feels like a fever dream. The storm has finally arrived. It hits the ground running so fast that even Harper, herself, is confused by it all. She thought this was the path she wanted. The path she had chosen. But, now everything seems lost.

The lore in Blue Lilies goes deeper than ever before. Sometimes I had a hard time following along because we've moved past the local lore to one that expands even further back. Back to the beginning. Back to when everything started. Back to how Keziah came to to be. But, finally, everything is starting to come together. It's the beginning of the end. Everything has led to this moment. I give major props to Paula Constant for the absolute fascinating research job she had to have done for this story.

And now on to Night Shade. Which is sure to be an explosive fireworks-over-the-river worthy finale.
