Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of World War II by Liza Mundy

adventurous challenging dark emotional informative reflective tense slow-paced

Despite being about military history, a subject that never interested me due to my father’s involvement with the military when I was growing up, the narrative of this story really gripped me and made me care about the early women in the navy. The book provides simple and interesting insights into cryptography and humanizes the topic by focusing on the lives of a few women who were there working on code breaking during WW2.
