I love how this story keeps building up the stakes so well. The pacing of this series is fantastic. I also greatly appreciate how the Spider Demon clan are not to be fucked with. Every time a new character was introduced, I thought that they were going to be the big baddy. I also sort of fell for the bait and switch as I did not expect Rui to be not only the strongest and leader of the clan, but as well one of the 12 Moons Demons... I thought that this introduction gave a great scope through which to see the power disparity between Tanjiro and the rest of the gang, and the ever increasing power of the demons which they encounter.
I also thought seeing a Pillar in battle was so fucking awesome as we see how truly gifted and strong they are- it shows where Tanjiro and the gang could maybe get to in the future.
I also thought that the addition of Rui's desires to have a real family and how that was perverted to the point of essentially confining the rest of the clan to fill the roles of his "family" was such a nice bit of character development. It strangely humanized this hellacious being.
