The Red Woman and the White Bear by Fern A. Ellis

4.0

“You can’t grow without leaving behind what is comfortable”

The author has such a beautiful writing style. This book is a dual POV, sharing the story of Aisling and Kael, but primarily told from the POV of Aisling.

Aisling is human, yet she finds herself in a prominent role in a Fae prophecy and is stuck in the middle of a Fae war that has been going on for a long time. I loved reading about Aisling discovering herself and growing into her role in a world she had written off as a fairytale. Kael, is the king of the Unseelie Court who was blessed with the curse of barely being able to control his shadow power. (I love a book when the MMC has shadow power. It brings me to the knees)

I enjoyed the world-building of the three worlds and the comparison of the Seelie and Unseelie Courts. I loved the duality of the two courts, each having their darkness and light.

I truly enjoyed the intimacy of the relationship between Aisling and Kael.

That ending… I can’t wait for book 2. I NEED to know what happens next.
