We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach

2.0

I had really high hopes for this book - great cover, amazing concept (basically The Breakfast Club meets Deep Impact), but it really fell flat for me. The book started out strong with some potentially interesting characters. But by the second half, I started losing interest. What I thought would be a romantic end-of-the-world story turned into a huge mess. I would have been fine if this book didn't have much of a plot, so the author's attempt to give the story momentum had the opposite effect for me and the book came to a screeching halt. His poorly constructed antagonists just took away from the main characters and distracted from the primary story. I will say that the writing itself was great - there was so much potential here, but it felt like a waste.
