Faithful and Virtuous Night by Louise Glück

reflective

3.5

Well, after finishing (almost) Glück’s entire body of work, I feel as though I’ve gone through her whole life as a ghost observing her through various periods. It’s been tiresome yet rewarding: I can see why she was so adored.

Poems I liked: The Past, Theory of Memory, A Sharply Worded Silence, Aboriginal Landscape, Forbidden Music, The Open Window, A Foreshortened Journey, The Horse and Rider, A Work of Fiction, A Summer Garden & The Couple in the Park.
