This was my first Bookshots title. I became a fan of James Patterson back in high school (roughly 20 years ago..yikes), but haven’t read any of his works since. I picked this up to see if I still enjoyed his work as an adult.
I did enjoy it. It was a quick read, very short chapters. To be completely honest, the 138 page length was the big seller for trying the Bookshot titles out. I was hoping to find some quick reads to help me meet my reading goal this year. I’m happy to say that I was right and will be reading more titles this year.
The story line was easy to follow and a bit predictable at times, but there was a twist that I was surprised by (I thought it was the other guy). There is some language, but nothing excessive. I was pleased to also not find a sex scene, I’m just not a fan. There is a hint of a romance and while the hints are pretty obvious, it isn’t a big deal.
