Submarine by Joe Dunthorne

3.0

Reasons to read this book:
1- Alex Turner made songs about this story. Stuck on the puzzle was made for this!
2- The cover of the book is the cover of the OST from the movies.
3- the film was fairly good.

I wanted to listen the audio book but could't get one, and since this is my first physical book in a while it took me ages to finish it. (I was almost sure I won't so I'm really proud of myself.)

Anyway, the book is quite different from the movie, but they're both interesting. I loved the new words but as a foreigner reader it's kind of usual. Not that I ever read the word lampoonery before. (random fact: Parody is also a form of lampoonery.)

I learnt for the first time they speak Welsh in Wales, and that Ryan Giggs was Welsh. I always thought of Wales as the birth place of Gareth Bale to be honest, but apparently he's not even the most famous Welsh footballer.
