Captain's Fury by Jim Butcher

2.0

Suitable for a commuting audiobook for those of us who can't listen to NPR any more. Butcher is a lazy writer of limited gifts who has nonetheless created a somewhat interesting world. He could really have used an editor; his descriptions are often hackneyed, cliched, and repetitive. Because he uses "Fury" to name the elemental creatures that power much of the world's magic system, it's really unfortunate that one of the words he overuses is "fury" in it's usual sense and also "furious." There are plenty of synonyms.

I'll listen to the rest of the series. But I don't want anyone to think I actually thought it was good.
