A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh

4.0

A Madness of Sunshine begins with a slow pace as the reader is introduced to Golden Cove through the eyes of Anahera coming home after years away in England after her husband unexpectedly dies.

A young woman, Miriama, soon disappears and the search is on. With her disappearance, and similarities to previous missing hikers brings along with it the rumor of a serial killer. Wondering who you can trust in a small town where you thought you knew someone keeps suspicions up.

This novel was an easy read that, especially towards the end, I had a hard time putting down. The beginning was a little slow as the investigation to Miriama’s disappearance was new and murder was not yet suspected. But as the investigation got closer to the truth, the faster the pace quickened.

What really excited me was the fact that the whole story you thought you were following one plot line but it ended up being two making it an interesting ending. I also loved that it took place in a secluded town in New Zealand bringing out the seclusive and dangerous nature of the environment and its inhabitants.
